I woke
Without realising death had been so close
Threatening to swallow me, to consume me, that I would be no more
I woke
To the light of my destiny
And to God's purpose
I woke
To a beautiful life
Never ending joy, energy abounding, desire to be
I woke
I woke
Because the Almighty wouldn't give up on me
Nor give me up to a deathless death and a sleepless sleep
I woke
Because he lives
